Interactive infographic on electricity storage in the city

Client: Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW)

Smart electricity

The ESQUIRE project from the Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW) in Berlin is looking at how renewable electricity can be stored decentrally in the future. Smart district storage seems to be a good solution for this, as it can also make a major contribution to the energy transition. In addition to the animated film that introduces the ESQUIRE project, I also created the web design of the www.stromspeicher-in-der-stadt.de website to match the short film – as an interactive infographic. The special feature: the individual image elements of the scene in low poly style light up when you select them and reveal in a short description what information the respective point provides: From services and finance, the energy system, the role of the players, ecology and the urban context to specific examples of which cities are already being planned as district storage facilities, the user learns a lot of interesting facts about the smart power supply of tomorrow.
