Art in the house of a hermit
In collaboration with Dr. Thomas Köster, I designed this very special photo book about the biologist and artist Erwin Hapke, who also has a doctorate. For 35 years, he lived as a recluse in his parents’ house, completely cut off from the outside world, folding figures out of paper and metal. Over the years, the house was transformed into a museum. It was only after his death that his heirs discovered the hidden works of art. Only a few people were allowed to enter. The photographer Dr. Thomas Köster was one of them. Thanks to his photos, this fascinating illustrated book has been created.
