Video CLAIRE – Centre for Climate Action and Innovation – Research & Engineering

Client: Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research

For our future: climate mitigation and climate adaptation

One of the biggest projects I’ve ever managed was the video for CLAIRE – a new Centre for Climate Action and Innovation – Research & Engineering, established by the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research (UFZ) in Leipzig, Germany. In cooperation with the UFZ I created a short film for the project’s application at the competition Science Creating Prospects for the Region (‘Wissen schafft Perspektiven für die Region!’) being initiated by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Free State of Saxony and the state Saxony-Anhalt. From the dramaturgy, the selection of the images and videos and the creation of the animations – everything lay in my hands.

The project is very important: Because of the law Structural Support Act for Coal Regions it is planned to establishment two new large-scale research centers, one in the Saxon part of Lusatia and one in the Central German coalfield. CLAIRE is the idea of a new Centre for Climate Action and Innovation – Research & Engineering to find smart solutions for climate mitigation an innovation and thereby create new perspectives for the region. An extremely stunning and complex project that will help our society getting carbon-neutral and getting prepared for the consequences of climate change.
